Terms of Service & Messaging Disclosure
Last updated: June 23, 2026
These terms govern your use of HepBuddy, operated by Harrison Shu (sole proprietor), Kirkland, WA, United States ("HepBuddy", "we", "us"). By using the service or consenting to receive our text messages, you agree to these terms.
The service
HepBuddy sends physical-therapy patients reminders and links to complete their home-exercise sessions, and sends a patient's nominated loved one progress updates so they can offer encouragement. It is delivered over text message, email, and the web. HepBuddy is a support and adherence tool. It does not provide medical advice and is not a substitute for care from a licensed clinician.
SMS messaging terms
- Program: HepBuddy exercise reminders, progress confirmations, and loved-one progress updates.
- How you opt in: At their physical-therapy visit a patient provides their own mobile number and signs HepBuddy's SMS consent form, then replies YES to a confirmation text before any reminders are sent. Providing a number is not consent, and opting in is never a condition of care or any purchase. A support contact opts in themselves: the patient shares a link, and on their own device the support contact enters only their own mobile number and checks an SMS consent box. HepBuddy never messages a support contact before they submit that form, and the patient never consents on their behalf.
- Message frequency: varies based on a patient's exercise schedule (recurring).
- Cost: Message and data rates may apply.
- Sending number: HepBuddy SMS messages may originate from our organizational phone number +1 (425) 645-5676.
- Opt out: Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages. You will receive one confirmation, then no further messages.
- Help: Reply HELP for help, or email harrisonshu@hepbuddy.com.
- Carriers: Supported carriers include major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Consent: Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.
